Adam Cheyer is an AI pioneer, inventor, entrepreneur and engineering executive best known as the co-founder of Siri, the voice assistant technology acquired by Apple.
Throughout his career, Cheyer has helped build multiple technology companies at the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning and human-computer interaction. At Siri, he led engineering for AI and server-side systems before the company was acquired by Apple. He later co-founded Viv Labs, an AI company focused on intelligent interfaces and open conversational systems, which was acquired by Samsung.
Cheyer also co-founded Sentient, a large-scale machine learning company, and GamePlanner.AI, an AI company focused on decision-making and planning that was acquired by Airbnb. He subsequently served as VP of AI Experience at Airbnb, working on applications of generative AI to transform the customer experience.
Earlier in his career, Cheyer spent more than a decade at SRI International, where he worked on artificial intelligence and served as Chief Architect of CALO, a major AI research program that contributed to the technologies behind Siri. He has authored more than 60 publications and holds approximately 50 patents across AI, machine learning, conversational assistants and human-computer interaction.
